The ending.is just sad:cry: so wheatley was not even evil, he had just been corrupted for being in glados hardware, he said he was sorry and now he is forever lost in space.at least valve could have thought of something better for him.like reaching some sort of alien planet where he would be hailed as king or as a god by the natives and that they put a crown and he goes like:D but instead they give you an ending in which possibly the most brilliant game character ever made is condemned to wander in space forever.its just sad bro. Don't feel bad for him, he fulfilled his porpose ofspoiler being a rambling idiot that makes sure nothing goes according to plan. He's designed to be GLADOS' 'tumor' /spoilerBesides, he has company of at least equal intelligence;)Edit: But yeah, Portal is indeed tragicomedy. It's funny because it's so absurd but at the same time a little heart wrenching. The Portal 2 comic is pretty damn good for this reason, it's comedy you can take a little seriously on an emotional level while also being a study of insanity.Don't take that as if I think it's worthy of being used in psychology class but it's very interesting. John coltrane live at the village vanguard again rar. Wouldn't it be ironic if Chell got attacked by a head crab or combine once she reached the surface.NoodleFighter I'm not sure if ironic is the right word to use.edit.But yes it was a great ending, though I hated how the game decided to take player control away at the end of the game - when Chell is knocked down. That pretty much went against Valve's narrative design logic that they've had since 1998, and in a game that doesn't present it at all, at any moment, starting with the player in control immediately it was really out of place.Odd for them to mess up like that really. Valve did it correct.

  1. Portal 2 Alternate Ending

Perfect ending, one of the best.Considering the world we are dealing with here. I thought the whole nice sunshine and nice open wheat/grass field after a victory was far more generic.

Right? That doesn't mean I have to like it for what its trying to do.You can look at the ending and think of multiple ways of what its supposed to mean, but I'm not really satisfied with either of them.

But then don't try to assume that it's not a good ending, because you didn't understand. Also I didn't look at the ending in multiple ways, valve already stated what those last 20 minutes mean, and why the last part is a grass field.

Portal 2 Alternate Ending

It isn't a happy neither a sad ending. But the whole city 17 thing is a generic one. It's so generic than even I thought that the ending was going to be something like that. The world destroyed, blah blah blah.

Portal 2 is based on Greek Mythology. Found this website off of another forum that shows hidden messages about this in the game.all of the robots are based off of Titans. The wheat field in the end represents heaven in Greek Mythology.

So some of the fans believe that Chell died from the turrets in the elevator at the end. That she is actually passing on to heaven. That is why the destroyed companion cube from Portal one is there.Kind of like how in the end of Gladiator Russel Crowe sees his dead wife and son waiting for him in the wheat field as he is slowly dieing.I personally believe that is the true ending that the devs wanted but, because of $$$ there will be more portals and Chell will be back. Sleepingzzz That sounds even better than the apparent ending we had:P hopefully Valve really intended it like that (they do make some crazy things when they actually try) and we see more Portals at least as good as the almost perfect 2:).
